It's not hard to avoid being scammed, I didn't even bother trying to get his ip.

lol as soon as he uses bad english or doesnt use a correct verb tense, somethings not right. also he asked quesiotns that wer in ur roiginal post, a real byer will read ur original thread carefully before contacting you

Watch out for user Skillychillz or emails/Aim names bbking045. After taking the normal precautions he decided to back out of buying and blocked my messages.

DesTinySoCI is a scammer, he doesnt pay thro paypall.. lucky for me, he has no idea the registered names to the account

What I learned from yesterday is You might get the money at that time but in like 8 hours, your money could be cut by paypal saying that the acc was fake. So just request 1 dollar from the buyer and wait 1 day. And yes as everybody says call him/her. You will high prob get the answer that he cant open ppl are sleeping etc. leave the trade to tomorrow then. If he/she completes and closes the dispute, I think he can not get the money back if you dont refund, so if you get all money you still do have a chance to say him to wait for 1 day at least.

Uses James name on paypay, and bomb57park@yahoo.co.uk as mail. I think I was dumb to believe this stuff, but first time happens. Be careful.

This is when the doof stops responding and claims a reverse charge on paypal which I believe causes me to pay a double transaction fee... like hell I'd do that.

I honestly don't see how this is funny or helpful.

I found Felidire's convo post funny. Your's however is a classical-scammer-bullshitting-a-seller.
Only difference is that you talked to him way too much. He had bad english, avoided half the things you told him and said things like "acc info?" or "acc pass" avout 6 times.
The guy is supposed to be consdidering purchasing your account and he doesn't even know who you are (because he just adds everyone's msn or aim and sends emails/messages to every seller). For crying out loud, you told him it's a multibox level 60 package and he asks you if you have an epic flyer...

Anyways, what i'm saying is: before wasting your time on having a conversation with a scammer like this: make him send you an email so that you can check his ip. When i get an email that says: "buy ur wow acc?" i just delete the email i dont even verify it. If the ip checks out, don't ever trust a person who wants to buy the account the same night, even less a person who takes 0 precautions.

did I say it was supposed to be extremely hilarious? Just putting the guys name/paypal id up there like everyone else and the conv just for kicks. God it's like your following me. Also didnt ask for advice.. especially not you. Did I not have my own working means to make sure he's legit? Did he follow them? So did I give him any critical info even after he sent me the money? You make it sound like I was ready and willing to give my account away. If you didn't realize, the // comments were added after my conversation pointing things out that were fishy.

All in all, didn't wanna talk to you again but you just keep popping up. So... buzz off and go bump your thread for your "epic" mage 20 more times.

Also, ive sold accounts in the past and 2 of the 3 were brand new to the game. So eager people with stupid questions arent all scammers.

Just had a scammer contact me via AIM: Jendoren.

He had no questions, and just wanted to pay my asking price. When I asked him for a phone number and email address so that I could contact him, he blocked me.

remember to call. Scammer will NOT call, and will not answer phone calls.

I am looking at selling my acct and read all those precautions to take before giving out ur acct info, however i am wondering if u take all those precautions (phone call, matching name and adresses, and copy of buyers ID), and u deal with someone; is the money paid to my paypal xfered back to my bank account really safe?, as in if u give him all ur info ( including email address and secret answer, even after let's say 3 days after the transaction) and he claims back on paypal, from what i understand ur paypal will end up negative...sorry if this sounds stupid but i am not American ( most buyers are) and won t be able to pursue the guy in America, also i havent used paypal much to understand how they work, so in the case u meet a honest scammer presenting his real ID but in the end asks for a pay back, he will have all my info and i end up with nothing to retrieve...i understand this case is unlikely going to happen, but i thought it could, could anyone inform me of what i could do in a case like this, i'd appreciate any information

is a scammer first of all but i avoided her scam by transfering all my paypal cash into a second account before she said that i never delivered the item and got the cash returned to her, so i suggest you do this with your future transactions

Is there anthor way of sell an account that dosn't include paypal because it seems like alot of people get scamed i was considering selling my account but if a person can i think you guys said "recharge"??? taking the money and the account. would it be safer to try to go through westerin union?

"make sure that they know you are selling them a PIECE OF PAPER with account information and that you will ship it through either certified mail, FedEx, UPS or some other type of mail that can give you a tracking number, verifying that they got the item. Also, make sure when you send them a bill through Paypal that you put that you are selling them a piece of paper with account info on it. If you do this, when they try to go back on the deal (like has happened to many of us a lot), Paypal will do their investigation and you will win. Look people i had the same thing happen too me i was scammed and before i new it he took back the funds with the dispute thing on paypal i think paypal sucks it only protects the buyers not the sellers at all so i lost my acount for one day and then got it back bye calling bliz and telling them i loged on and noticed i couldnt acceses my acount info then went to retrieve my password to the acount and they sent out the email and i told them i noticed that my email was changed i got my acount back with a 5 min phone call

Dumb people do dumb things. Reading these logs and I just shake my head. You know if it is a scammer in the first 10 seconds. Why do you all even converse with these people?

All you have to do is when a potential "buyer" comes on is start with "Please give me your phone number and we can discuss this over the phone."

Any reasonable person will be ok with this and gets rid of most of the scammers right away. Also, lol@paypal. If it's not a bank or U.S. postal service money order, it's not money (in the United States) lol.

I am new to this but I think the reason that people get scammed is because of greed. Last night I had almost $1300 dangled in front of me for my account and I wanted to make the deal but the red flags were all over--he wouldn't do the Ebay thing, wanted everything done NOW but unwilling to do anything but paypal (hes verified dontcha know!). He just had to have the SQA now, change the email now.

The guy spoke well, not this choppiness from so many, but I see some of the same quotes of quesions from these posts as my guy. We had a deal but for whatever his reason he wouldn't give me any of his contact info and after I gave him my paypal AND waited 15 min with no cash incoming, I finally told him I was going to bed...but he STILL wanted my to send him my account info:

So, scammer. And honestly, I cannot think of a way to safely transfer my account to someone. I know ~I~ am not going to rip them off, but they don't know that...and visa versa. So we are at a catch-22. How to make that exchange that protects me while not hanging the buyer out there for ALL the risk...I just don't know how to get there. I would love for someone to enjoy the account that I have put my blood, sweat and tears into for 4 years, and for me to get some cash for the effort and success I had, but I don't know the avenue where to do that.

just an update for the list but user hotmailblood also using the email plutocoldy@hotmail.com is a scammer he is using stolen/fraudulent paypal information just an FYI to avoid at all costs im still trying to work the kinks out from my experience MAKE SURE TO GET A PHONE CALL FROM BUYERS it doesnt matter how much info they have they may have stolen it all (aka identity theft) so photo id copy and person holding id would be a big suggestion

Basically I didn't read this and the guy disputed the charges on pay pal.. Im working with blizzard to get my account back I emailed them and told them I knew everything about the account, since I am the original owner like credit card used for time, i have the original CDs used to activate the account, recent warnings from blizzard so on.

The guys name on this site who scammed me was smoothly. Make sure you ban him or something =/ MSN santomelow@hotmail.com aim:onaroll1021 are the two ways he will contact you.

I agree that Smoothly is a scammer. He's responded to all of my posts with a private message, the EXACT same text every time, offered to pay me MUCH more than my account is worth and wanted to do it ASAP (trying to take advantage of the greedy). Doesn't respond once you say you want to talk on the phone.
