This guy tried to scam me too under the name red.gatehouse456@hotmail.com. Basically don't deal with anyone with the red. in it.

Also look out for overclocked@ anything. Any variation of overclocked. He tries to use fake credentials and rep for a real person that actually is overclocked.

If you come across a user "Kevin Nard" do not do business with him. He is a scammer. He is using the email: overclocked@windowslive.com
He is claiming to be Kevin Nard who is in fact a legit buyer/seller and is using his TWV.

Quick Facts:
1) Scammers ALWAYS have bad grammar
2) They like to claim they are LEGIT when they are clearly not.
3) They ask you for information you already posted on your thread.
4) When you ask to exchange phone numbers, they say something stupid like this:

I got scammed by someone on this forum
his name is Lovetotrade
he had his own feedback post on another forum where you can also sell/buy accounts
It could be an imposter though that just used the real lovetotrade name to easily convince sellers.
this is his "feedback page". I also checked the people that posted feedbacks in case
he just made multiple accounts and posted it themself but they seem all different people.

Also blizz recovered my account with all my stuff in less then a day! ^^

yes agreed, i didnt read up on the scammer list, and let him sweet talk me into giving him account, and traded paypal ect, he said he confirm and sent the " echeque " but then came back with echeque will be a few days bla bla, then just went offline......

luckily i got hold of blizzard and talked and got my account back quick and fast.

It seems he was using a stolen credit card licensed to a woman working at a law firm. Her e-mail address is bgarza at troubhheisler dot com. I knew it was strange that there was a mismatch between the point of contact and the buyer's Paypal e-mail, but I figured he simply had a different address for both. I assumed he was either the woman in question, or he had access to his mother's or sister's credit card account.

My sugestion is that you contact paypal directly and explain how this person is atempting to defraud you for an electronically delivered item. Its how I got the money to stay with me last time some wanker tried to scam me, since electronic items are harder to tract.

I managed to get my account back with everything I had.
He didn't pay me at all.
that's why I initiated an account recovery.

You want to be sure and have a fair deal ? just take your time for it.

If the person the you are dealing with is in a rush ? call it off.
If he offers your 100% more then you have asked to sell your account for ? call it off.

Easy basic steps, Ones you have add;d hom on MSN / AIM just check hes mail on google. useally people report scammers and you'll be able to find a story about the person you are dealing with.

And do not send ID Photos. One of the simple things you can do with it is Buy 10 Iphones and let you pay for it. Atleast Blur the picture of you on it so it doesnt look real.

You could just hand him Login Detals. ones you have transferd the money from your paypal to your bank, you could hand over the more private details.

I sold him my wow account which i treasured and just didn't have time to play anymore. Then I received a held fund in my paypal account.

The person known as kinetixwaldowow@hotmail.com is building a reputation as a scammer. Having recently spoken to this person, and having seen these two threads (link(1), link(2)) I'd like to warn everyone using these forums to be extra cautious and vigilant regarding this person, and those like them.

Combating the Scam
A Guide on Safe Account Trading… By GurglingEmu

Before trading, ask yourself these questions:
Do I have the email registered to the account?
Do I know the answer to the secret question?
Do I know the name on the account?
If you answered no to any of these questions… trading will be much more risky.


Steps to Account Trading:

1. Talk on AIM, or another messaging service. By talking using an instant messenger, rather than the phone, or vent, you can screenshot and save your conversation.

2. MEET IN-GAME! No matter how great the account looks… NEVER, under any circumstances, trade without seeing the character in-game. DO NOT Trade for a frozen account. Please note that account character sheets can be Photo shopped… do not accept them as proof of existence.

3. Begin the trade by testing out the other persons account. Make sure that the characters are on there. Don’t worry… your gold is a lot safer than you would think. By trading the account name and password first… you will have the ability to recall your account if anything should go wrong. If you find that your gold is stolen, tell a GM that your gold is missing.

4. Once you are satisfied that the character exists, you can proceed to the email change. Have the other person log onto your account at the Blizzard webpage, and send you an email change form. Do the same on his/ her account. If you would like, make them change the email first. You will know that the email is changed when the email on the account starts with the same letter as yours.
I.E. for the email gurglingemu@gurglingemuland.com you would see… g***** for the email address. NEVER trade for an account that lacks a changeable email.

5. In addition, once you have the email, change the phone number to your own.

6. Once the email is changed, share answers to the secret question. The secret question can be tested by answering the question registered to his/ her account. If it is correct, a new, randomized password will be sent to your email.

7. Lastly, NEVER trade the name registered to the account. This is used as a backup if the trade goes to hell, and you get scammed. (See Recalling an Account)


Recalling your stolen account:
If you followed the instructions above, and traded… and got scammed, then send me a PM. Or reply to this post.

I’ll walk you through, step by step, the process to recalling an account in which you no longer have the email address.

Or use the automated Blizzard account recall service at their website (only if you have the email.)

I wrote this to help clean up the forums, as I see far too many people getting scammed.
